Among the ancient alleys of Patù we find for sale “Il giardino di Elena”, an ancient renovated residence with garden.
It is a portion of an ancient building from the end of the 18th century, recovered in 2018, respecting its Salento nature, but giving it, at the same time, contemporaneity and usability.
Once through the entrance door we find ourselves in an atmosphere of other times, inside a courtyard, where the entrance to the house is located. Entering the house we are greeted by large and bright rooms, with lime walls in natural shades, and microcement floors.
The living area, consisting of: entrance hall, eat-in kitchen, living room and lounge area, is a large and airy open space.
More reserved, however, are the three bedrooms, all doubles. The first is located on the ground floor, and has a private bathroom inside, as well as the room we have on the first floor at terrace level, which is accessed via an external staircase that starts from the garden, and enjoys privacy and independence . The third and last bedroom is located on a mezzanine, and has a bathroom with laundry available in the immediate vicinity. Beyond the large glass and wrought iron door of the dining room, the garden welcomes us, ideally divided into three areas: a part dedicated to conviviality, with a space covered with wattle, where there is a table to accommodate up to fourteen diners, a relaxation area with sofas and armchairs, surrounded by ornamental plants, flowers, and trees, and finally the earthenware tub-pool, to find refreshment on the hot Salento days. Even the solar area, easily accessible, has been equipped to be able to take full advantage of it.
The house is equipped with an underfloor heating system, powered by a methane gas boiler, and an air conditioning system using fan coils and inverters, and is connected to all public utilities. The furniture is not included in the sale price.
Patù is a small town in the southernmost area of Salento, a place where time seems to have stopped to allow us to rediscover the pleasure of simple things and the slow passing of the days, without however renouncing the beauty of the Ionian and Adriatic seas both very close, and their marinas, such as the small San Gregorio and Felloniche, up to the more famous Santa Maria di Leuca, and the lively white beaches of Torre Vado and Pescoluse.
